• The signature is permanent. Every APK is signed with the developer's private key. Android will only install an update over an existing app if both are signed with the same key. That is why a fake copy can never update a genuine app, and why Android sometimes says "App not installed" when you mix sources.
• Android checks the file, not the website. The phone has no idea whether the site you downloaded from was official. Play Protect scans the file for known malware, but a brand-new fake may not be recognised yet. Choosing the source is your job.

Three things to know about these details:

• The file hash changes with every new build. It only matches a file downloaded around the same date. The signing certificate should stay the same across updates; if Android refuses to install an update over your current app, the new file was signed by someone else.
• The file doesn't name a developer. The package name and the signing certificate are both made of random text, so you can't tell from the APK who publishes the app. The Teen Patti Master name is also used by more than one app and build, so the source you download from is the check that matters.
• Camera access is declared. Android asks before any app uses the camera. Refuse it unless you choose to photograph a document yourself.

If the in-app update fails, download the newest APK from the same page and install it over the old one without uninstalling. Android will say it is an update to an existing app, which confirms the signatures match.

When the APK will not install

The five errors we see most often, and the fix for each:

• App not installed. Another copy with a different signature is already installed, or storage is full.
• There was a problem parsing the package. The download is incomplete, or the build needs a newer Android version.
• For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Allow "Install unknown apps" for the app that opened the file.
• Blocked by Play Protect. Read the message. A named threat means delete the file.
• App installed but closes instantly. Clear the cache and restart the phone. Check your phone runs Android 5.0 or newer, the minimum the current APK declares.

Android changes coming in 2027

Google has announced that certified Android phones will start requiring apps installed from outside the Play Store to come from developers who have verified their identity with Google. It began in a few countries in 2026, and Google has said it will expand worldwide from 2027. Google has also said experienced users will keep a way to install apps from unverified developers.

In practice, you may see a new screen during install that names the developer or warns that the developer is unverified. Read it carefully. The law in India

Online money games are banned across India under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which also bans advertising them and stops banks and payment apps from processing their payments. Players are not the target of the penalties, but they are the ones left without protection when a money app refuses a withdrawal or disappears. Challenges to the Act are before the Supreme Court.
